Abstract

The aim of the present work is to enable a transient 3D-CFD simulation over multiple working cycles for turbocharged internal combustion engines. In this context, a transient simulation is defined as a change in the engine operating point, e.g. speed or load. Due to the strong interaction between a turbocharger and a combustion engine, an integrated approach through a coupled engine-turbocharger simulation is required to ensure a global system response.
