Zusammenfassung
Die Arbeit im Privathaushalt stellt weltweit den wichtigsten und am stärksten wachsenden Beschäftigungssektor dar (vgl. Apitzsch/Schmidbaur 2011). Insgesamt leben in Europa 2,2 Millionen dieser sog. „migrant domestic workers” (International Labour Organization 2016: 37), von denen die überwiegende Anzahl weiblich ist (International Labour Organization 2015: xiii). International betrachtet wandern Haus- bzw. Care-Arbeiterinnen aus Ländern des globalen Südens und Ostens in Länder des globalen Nordens oder Westens (vgl. Baghdadi/Hettlage 2015: 340).
