Zusammenfassung
Die Agrar- und Ernährungswirtschaft in Europa wird geprägt durch kleine und mittelständische Unternehmen (KMU). 2010 zählten von 286.000 Betrieben 99,1 % als KMU (Arcese et al. 2015, S. 8069). 0,9 % der Betriebe mit mehr als 250 Beschäftigten vereinen rund 52 % der gesamten Umsätze in der europäischen Ernährungsindustrie auf sich (Leis et al. 2011, S. 5.).
