Zusammenfassung
Fast eine Billion US$ sollen in die von China initiierte New Silk Road Initiative investiert werden. Eine Entwicklungshilfeinitiative in logistische Infrastruktur, die Unternehmen weltweit zu einer Erweiterung der Produktions- und Vertriebsstandorte verhelfen soll. Um die vielfältigen Waren-, Geld- und Informationsströme entlang der entstehenden komplexen Liefernetzwerke effizient abzubilden, bedarf es mehr als der heute etablierten Systeme. Die Blockchain Technologie bietet in diesem Zusammenhang hochinteressante Anwendungsmöglichkeiten und Potenziale, um die mit besagtem Megaprojekt einhergehenden Herausforderungen zu bewältigen. Es bietet sich aufgrund der Fortschritte im Bereich der Industrie 4.0 in den vergangenen Jahren an, den Einsatz der Blockchain Technologie nicht nur in der Logistik, sondern als Basis zur Integration von Liefer- und Wertschöpfungstätigkeiten zu erforschen, um eine holistische Supply Chain, bestehend aus Produktion und Logistik, entlang der New Silk Road zu erschaffen – die New Silk Road 4.0.
