Zusammenfassung
The economic success of sawmills heavily depends on the quality of the log cutting patterns. As in many other applications, quality is a multi-dimensional measurement including technical and commercial aspects as well as individual preferences. In this extended abstract, we describe a decision support system that enables sawmills to identify efficient cutting patterns. The approach bases on the possibility to quickly enumerate all feasible patterns.
