Zusammenfassung
Das Motiv der Straße in der Musik ist ein allgegenwärtiger und dennoch bislang weitgehend von der wissenschaftlichen Forschung nur peripher behandelter Topos. Dabei beziehen sich ganz unterschiedliche Popmusikkulturen vergleichsweise häufig auf die Straße, sowohl was die visuellen Inszenierungen als auch die konkret räumliche Verortung der Musik und die Narrative der jeweiligen Genres angeht. Nicht nur ein Genre wie Rap ist ohne den Bezug zur Straße in Form der street consciousness (Keyes, 2004; Alim, 2005) oder street credibility (Balaji, 2012) kaum zu denken, sondern auch im Musical, in der Independent-Musik oder der klassischen Musik begegnet die geneigte Hörerin oder der geneigte Hörer der Straße in unterschiedlichen Narrativen, Ästhetiken und Funktionszuweisungen.
