Wenn wir richtig damit umgehen ist Kunststoff ein Segen. Das Material ist so vielseitig, dass es keine Branche gibt, die darauf verzichten könnte (siehe Tab. 4.3 und Abb. 4.4). Mit Glasfasern oder Kohlenstoffnanotubes erreicht Plastik Festigkeitswerte von metallischen Werkstoffen und mit Plastifizierungshilfsmitteln werden sie so weich und biegsam wie Papier.
