Detecting the Matrix of Domination: A Historical Perspective

  • Anna AntonakisEmail author

In this chapter, I contextualize the “Matrix of Domination” and its organization of power. Patricia Hill Collins defines it in a specific “social location” and historic specificity “in which social groups are embedded and which they aim to influence” (Collins, 2000, p. 228). In this chapter, I relate the historical analysis to the claims outlined in the previous chapter, where I framed state feminism as a pillar of the hegemonic domain of power.
