Abstract
This chapter provides a more detailed description of the state of the art in trust research and its special connection to trust in systems. Sect. 2.3 discovered control, complexity, non-knowledge, risk, expectations and suspension to be the decisive components of trust analysis. In this chapter, four of these components will be discussed in their own section, while expectations and suspension will be analyzed more closely in Sect. 5.1.
