Deutsche Industrieunternehmen sehen sich heutzutage nicht nur der Globalisierung, sondern insbesondere einem intensiveren Wettbewerb, verstärkter Marktvolatilität und kürzeren Innovationszyklen sowie einer steigenden Komplexität gegenüber. Der Druck auf die Entwicklung neuer Produkte und Dienstleistungen steigt. Zur Bewältigung dieser vielfältigen Herausforderungen werden Flexibilität, Effizienz und anpassungsfähige Produktions- und Logistiksysteme benötigt.
