Zusammenfassung
Die Anzahl der Interviews oder eine Responserate einer Erhebung wird oft als das Gütekriterium einer Befragung wahrgenommen und kommuniziert: Je größer die Anzahl an Interviews und je höher eine Responserate, desto aussagekräftiger und belastbarer seien Ergebnisse einer Erhebung. Dabei bleibt unberücksichtigt, dass im Modell des Total Survey Errors viele weitere Faktoren neben einer Responserate Einfluss auf die Qualität einer Erhebung und auf die Aussagekraft der Ergebnisse haben. Zudem bleibt dabei unberücksichtigt, dass Responseraten unterschiedlich berechnet werden können.
