Zusammenfassung
Der Beitrag vergleicht die beiden nordamerikanischen Musikstädte Austin und Toronto insbesondere hinsichtlich ihrer Demografien, ihrer Gründungs- und Startup- sowie ihrer generellen kreativwirtschaftlichen Dynamiken, ihrer kommunalpolitischen Umfelder, ihrer zentralen Organe der Interessenvertretung sowie ihrer Einbindung in das Stadtmarketing und die Schaffung eines urban branding. In einem zweiten Schritt werden die bestehenden Strukturen zur Förderung von Musik und Musikwirtschaft sowie zentrale Programme skizziert und gegenübergestellt.
