Zusammenfassung
Die wichtige Rolle von Mobile Learning (M-Learning) für die Verbesserung und Verbreitung von Bildungsmöglichkeiten in Subsahara Afrika wird in vielen Berichten durch die hohe Verfügbarkeit von mobilen Endgeräten und der breiten Nutzung von mobilen Bezahlservices wie M-Pesa begründet. Letztendlich sind es jedoch die Schüler und Studierende, die mit diesen Geräten lernen müssen und daher ist es wichtig zu sehen, welche Motivationsfaktoren die Nutzung dieser Geräte zum Lernen begünstigt. Da dies im afrikanischen Raum bis jetzt kaum erforscht wurde, soll in diesem Beitrag ein Pilotprojekt vorgestellt werden, in dem das Unified-Theory-of Acceptance-and-Use-of-Technology(UTAUT)-Modell eingesetzt wurde, um gezielt Faktoren zu finden, welche Lernende zur Nutzung von Mobile Learning bewegt bzw. abhält. Ziel der Arbeit ist es, aus dem existierenden UTAUT-Modell einen Fragebogen zu entwickeln und diesem einer Testgruppe von afrikanischen Krankenhausmitarbeitern, die an einem Blended-Learning-Kurs teilgenommen haben, vorzustellen im Rahmen eines Interviews, bei dem sowohl qualitativ als auch quantitative Daten erhoben wurden. Als Ergebnisse kann festgehalten werden, dass in der befragten Gruppe die Faktoren eingeschränkte Performance durch die verkleinerte Darstellung der Inhalte sowie soziale Einflussfaktoren wenig bis keinen Effekt auf die Teilnehmer hatten. Technisch unerfahrenere Nutzer sowie Lernende, die generell ihren Laptop für die meisten Arbeiten bevorzugten, waren tendenziell von der Nutzung eines M-Learning-Systems abgeneigt.
