Zusammenfassung
Zur Zeit seines plötzlichen Todes Anfang 1962 ist Mills noch mit verschiedenen Projekten, u.a. den Nachfolgebänden zu „The Marxists“ über die „The Anarchists“ und „The Trotskyists“ beschäftigt (Horowitz 1962, S. 107). In einem Brief an Ralph Miliband vom 22. Juni 1960 nennt er zudem selbst als seine Arbeiten zu dieser Zeit sein Buch über den Marxismus, „Cultural Apparatus“, „Contacting the Enemy“ und „The Comparative Study“ (Mills 2000a, S. 291, 1962b), von denen er nur noch, wie gesehen, „The Marxists“ abschließen kann.
