Zusammenfassung
Der Beitrag erläutert die Basiskonzepte des Neoinstitutionalismus gemäß ihrem aktuellen Diskussionsstand, um anschließend Bezüge zur Educational Governance herzustellen und Forschungsperspektiven für die Educational Governanceforschung abzuleiten. Dabei werden neben Schulen insbesondere auch Hochschulen in den Blick genommen. Abschließend erfolgt eine Bewertung des Potenzials des Neoinstitutionalismus für die Theorieentwicklung der Educational Governanceforschung. Dabei wird deutlich, dass das Potential neoinstitutionalistisch orientierter Governanceanalysen darin liegt, die Dualität von Governance und Kultur für Bildungseinrichtungen und -reformen explizit berücksichtigen zu können. Während die politische Steuerungstheorie oder der Akteurzentrierte Institutionalismus Kultur als Faktor noch explizit ausschließen, offeriert der Neoinstitutionalismus ein breites begrifflich-analytisches Instrumentarium, um Kultur in die institutionelle Analyse einzubeziehen, ohne dabei die klassischen Perspektiven der Educational Governanceforschung zu hintergehen.
