Zusammenfassung
Blei-, Nickel-Cadmium-, Nickel-Metallhydrid- und Natrium-Schwefel-Akkumulatoren werden seit den 1980er Jahren in dezentralen Speicheranwendungen eingesetzt: für die Energiebereitstellung (engl. dispatching power) unabhängig vom Zeitpunkt der Erzeugung, die kurzzeitige Netzüberbrückung (engl. bridging power) bei der Nutzung erneuerbarer Energien und als Reserveleistung von Kraftwerken (engl. spinning reserve) und die Netzstabilisierung (engl. stabilizing power) Das Kapitel fasst den Stand der Technik herkömmlicher Batterien für Speicheranwendungen zusammen: Zellchemie, Materialien, Eigenschaften und Schwachstellen, Leistungsdaten und Anwendungsbeispiele.
