Zusammenfassung
Dieses Kapitel begründet aus der epistemologischen Perspektive des Sozialkonstruktivismus den Prozess des strategischen Managements als Paradigmenwechsel, der aus zahlreichen neuen wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen des 20. Jahrhunderts hervorgegangen ist, wie Relativitäts-, Chaos-, Systemtheorie, Kybernetik, Kognitivismus oder Postmodernismus. Es wird in diesem Kapitel postuliert, dass keine vom Menschen unabhängige Wirklichkeit existiert, sondern dass sie über Kommunikation und Interpretationen, also Konstrukte, erfahren wird. Der Gegenstand des Erkennens wird vom Menschen selbst konstruiert, und zwar entsprechend einer Reihe von Prinzipien, wie Komplexität, Emergenz, Kontingenz, Viabilität oder Modellierung. Vervollständigt wird dieses Kapitel durch eine Positionierung des sozialkonstruktivistischen Organisationsbegriffs in einer systemischen, rhizomatischen und fraktalen Perspektive, sowie durch die Darstellung einer daraus erfolgenden veränderten Sichtweise auf das Konzept des Managements sowie auf die Rolle und das Verhalten eines Managers.

Der wahre Bereich des Wissens ist nicht das reine Objekt, sondern das von uns sichtbare, wahrgenommene und koproduzierte Objekt. Der Gegenstand des Wissens ist nicht die Welt, sondern die Gemeinschaft „unsere“ Welt, die Teil unserer Welt ist. Mit anderen Worten: das Objekt des Wissens ist die Phänomenologie und nicht die ontologische Realität.

Durch die Integration verändert sich die Eigenschaft der Dinge, weil eine Organisation oft Eigenschaften besitzt, die nicht auf einer unteren Ebene vorhanden waren. Diese Eigenschaften können durch diejenigen ihrer Bestandteile erklärt, aber nicht aus ihnen abgeleitet werden.
