Zusammenfassung
Wirtschaftspolitik beschreibt im Allgemeinen in einer Marktwirtschaft die Gesamtheit aller Institutionen, Regeln, Regulierungen und Maßnahmen, mit denen staatliche oder lokale Entscheidungsträger auf die Wirtschaftsordnung und den Wirtschaftsprozess als Ergebnis dezentraler Entscheidungen einwirken, um bestimmte, von der Gesellschaft vorgegebene Ziele zu erreichen. Dabei kann es sich sowohl um allgemeine Regeln für die Durchführung von Markttransaktionen als auch um gezielte interventionistische Eingriffe zur Erzeugung bestimmter Marktergebnisse handeln. Das Ziel wirtschaftspolitischer Maßnahmen ist es dabei stets, ein effizientes arbeitsteiliges Wirtschaften auf Dauer zu ermöglichen und Störungen in der Wirtschaftsentwicklung durch Schocks einzugrenzen und zu korrigieren.
