Abstract
This book analyzes candidate selection, an important function of political parties. I use German national parties in European elections as a representative of other parties in different political systems. The previous chapters answered two main research questions by employing different research methods. Using document analyses, expert interviews, and a survey I explore how German parties construct their electoral lists for European elections.
