Zusammenfassung

Harary beschäftigte sich seit Beginn der 50er Jahre des letzten Jahrhunderts mit graphentheoretischen Fragestellungen. Aus Sicht der Netzwerkforschung ist bedeutsam, dass Harary bereits 1953 zusammen mit Norman eine Abhandlung mit den Titel Graph Theory as a Mathematical Model in Social Science veröffentlichte. Damals arbeitete Harary zusammen mit Norman am Research Center for Group Dynamics im Institute for Social Research der University of Michigan.
