Die Zivilgesellschaft in Tschechien im Widerstreit liberaler und staatszentrierter Ideen

Zusammenfassung

Der Beitrag fragt danach, was aus der breiten Mobilisierung 1989 für Demokratie und eine aktive Bürgergesellschaft in Tschechien geworden ist. Er zeigt, dass heute ein differenziertes und verzweigtes Netz der organisierten Zivilgesellschaft existiert (insbesondere im Umwelt- und Sozialbereich), obgleich das politische Umfeld nicht immer förderlich dafür war. Gewerkschaften und Dachverbände des nichtstaatlichen Sektors verfügen über Partizipationsprivilegien in manchen Bereichen der öffentlichen Politik. Ein wiederkehrendes Muster ist der Protest bzw. in der Suche nach Alternativen zu den etablierten Parteien über zivilgesellschaftliche Formen oder Organisationen, die sich einen solchen Anstrich geben, aber doch politische Ämter anstreben. Obwohl zivilgesellschaftliche Organisationen zahlreich existieren und teilweise großen Einfluss entfalten, ist der Partizipationsgrad insgesamt gering.
