„Die Welt ist aus den Fugen geraten. Wir erleben eine Krisendichte wie seit 20 Jahren nicht mehr. Aber es ist nicht nur die Krisendichte, sondern auch die unterschiedlichen Akteure und die asymmetrischen Konflikte, die die Lage so kompliziert machen“2, beschrieb Außenminister Frank Walter Steinmeier 2014, seine Wahrnehmung des internationalen Systems des 21. Jahrhunderts.
Die vorliegenden Ausführungen stützen sich zum wesentlichen Teil auf Masala, Carlo: Weltunordnung. Die globalen Krisen und das Versagen des Westens, München 2016.
