Abstract

This chapter first introduces the basic research framework for role-specific subsidiary initiative-taking in Section 3.1. Next, Section 3.2 describes the key elements of the framework, which are subsidiary roles (Subsection 3.2.1), subsidiary initiative-taking behavior (Subsection 3.2.2) and subsidiary initiative outcomes (Subsection 3.2.3). Subsequently, in Section 3.3, the theoretical foundations are introduced and then, in Section 3.4, the contingent and dynamic resource-based framework is described in detail. The framework links the conceptual and theoretical considerations and provides the basis for the development of the propositions that are derived in the last Section of this Chapter (3.5).
