Der Name ist Programm: Sales macht die Distribution und den Verkauf von neuen und bestehenden Wertpapieren, Trading besorgt den Handel und die Preisstellung. Zusätzlich produziert Research die Informationsaufbereitung und Ideen. Dabei erfinden die Strukturierer passende kundenspezifische Lösungen. Das ganze geschieht unter den wachsamen Augen von Operations, das die Risiken und die Einhaltung von Vorgaben kontrolliert. Dies ist das Frontoffice, das vom etwa doppelt so großen Middle- und Backoffice unterstützt wird. Diese Konfiguration findet man sowohl bei Global Equity Market als auch bei Global Debt Market. Das Sales und Trading von Equities, der Aktienhandel und Handel von aktienähnlichen Produkten und Derivaten, bildet den Anschluss an die institutionellen Investoren, die auf dem Sekundärmarkt kaufen und verkaufen wollen. S&T arbeitet in zwei Modi: als Dealer und als Broker, also kurzgefasst als Broker-Dealer. Zum einen ist die Division Makler und damit Intermediär zwischen Käufer und Verkäufer und deren Makler. Zum anderen kauft und verkauft der Dealer aus einem eigenen Inventar. Je nach Ausgestaltung ist er entweder Market Maker oder Proprietary Trader.
