Zusammenfassung
Wie wir bereits gesehen haben, hat sich das Beratungsgeschäft als eigenständige Geschäftseinheit erst in den Siebzigerjahren etabliert als die Fusionen von Unternehmungen rasant zunahmen. Vorher stand die Beratung immer im Dienst der Kapitalaufnahme, die, sofern sie zustande kam, für alle Leistungen bezahlte.
Die Beratungsdienstleistungen kann man in die folgenden Kategorien einordnen, die allerdings im Jargon als „Produkte“ bezeichnet werden: Fusion und Akquisition, Übernahmeabwehr, Leveraged Finance, Abstoßung und Restrukturierung.
Die aufgezählten Themen werden auch Market for Coporate Control genannt, denn bei der Zerschlagung und Rekombination von Unternehmensteilen stehen die Kontrolle und damit auch die Führung des neuen Gebildes im Vordergrund. Etwas unschön wird auch M&A mit diesem Oberbegriff gleichgesetzt.
