Zusammenfassung
Zur Beschreibung der Investmentbank ist es notwendig, Märkte, Produkte, Funktionen und Akteure einzuführen. Hier wollen wir wichtige Begriffe erläutern, die für das Verständnis der späteren Kapitel wesentlich sind. Wie das Wort Grundlage impliziert, werden wir uns eher kurz halten. Das Kreditwesen kennt zwei archetypische Instrumente, nämlich die Beteiligung und das Darlehen. Die Beteiligung bezieht sich auf eine wirtschaftliche Tätigkeit, an deren potenziellen Gewinn man Anteil nimmt, indem man der Unternehmung Kapital zur Verfügung stellt. Das Darlehen ist eine Hingabe einer Sache („datio“) mit der Verpflichtung, eine Sache gleicher Quantität und gleicher Beschaffenheit wieder zu bekommen. Bei der verwandten Leihe soll dieselbe Sache zurückgegeben werden. Diese Instrumente bedürfen einer nachvollziehbaren Dokumentation, die entweder ein Vertrag oder ein Wertpapier darstellt.
