Zusammenfassung
Hochschulbildungsforschung findet häufig unter schwierigen Voraussetzungen statt. Kleine Fallzahlen, kaum kontrollierbare Forschungskontexte und viele Gestaltungsoptionen machen es häufigschwierig, zu eindeutigen empirischen Ergebnissen zu gelangen und, davon ausgehend, konsistente didaktische Gestaltungsentscheidungen zu treffen. Der Beitrag diskutiert methodologische und methodische Herausforderungen, die in der Hochschulbildungsforschung häufig vorkommen. Illustriert wird dies am Beispiel der begleitenden Forschung zum Entwicklungsprogramm Lehren. Mit dem Konzept des ‚narrativen Forschungungsdesigns‘ wird ein Vorschlag gemacht, wie die skizzierten Herausforderungen bearbeitet werden können.
