Doppelhelices, doppelt gewendelte Spiralen (von gr. hélix, Windung, Spirale), kommen in den Mikro- wie in den Makro-Strukturen der Natur vor. Mikrostrukturen sind z. B. die Doppelspiralen der Chromosomen, die das Erbgut aller Lebewesen bestimmen. Die berühmteste ist die Doppelhelix im Desoxyribonukleinsäure-Molekül.
