Abstract

We conduct a systematic and comprehensive review, consistent with recent suggestions, to fortify the methodological rigor of literature reviews in the management and business field (e.g. Crossan and Aypadin, 2010; Holtbrügge and Dögl, 2012; Macpherson and Jones, 2010). From a methodological perspective, a sys-tematic literature review is a) a replicable and an explicit procedure for the identification, evaluation, and interpretation of the existing landscape of a research study (Fink, 2005).
