Zusammenfassung
In diesem Beitrag wird der Zusammenhang zwischen sozialer Einbettung und Bildungsarmut systematisch herausgearbeitet. Zu diesem Zweck setzen wir uns zunächst konzeptionell und theoretisch mit dem Begriff Sozialkapital auseinander. Anschließend präsentieren wir empirische Studien, die Sozialkapital innerhalb und außerhalb von Familien sowie in sozial-räumlichen Kontexten und dessen Einfluss auf den Bildungs(miss)erfolg der Individuen zum Gegenstand haben. In der Zusammenfassung werden Ansatzpunkte für die Bildungspolitik formuliert und Forschungsdesiderate aufgezeigt.
