Zusammenfassung
Eine kohärente liberale Bildungs- und Erziehungstheorie gibt es nicht. Und doch lässt sich im Liberalismus eine begrenzte Zahl pädagogischer Topoi ausmachen, die allesamt die Frage ins Zentrum stellen, wie politische Ordnung möglich ist, wenn sie nicht (allein) in Tradition und Herkunft gründet. Insbesondere drei Problemzusammenhänge werden hierbei verhandelt: Die Bildung des Individuums, die Legitimation eines öffentlichen Unterrichtswesens sowie die Rechte und Pflichten von Eltern.
