Zusammenfassung

Globalisierung ist kein neues Phänomen, aber erst in den 1990er Jahren wird sie in den Sozialwissenschaften zu einem sichtbaren Gegenstand der Forschung und der Begriff zu einem umstrittenen Analysekonzept weltweiter ökonomischer, politischer und kultureller Verflechtungen (McLaren und Farahmandpur 2001; Tikly 2009). Bildung gilt als Voraussetzung und Antrieb für Globalisierung (vgl. die Bibliografien bei Forster 2009 und Fuchs 2008; ferner: Bilstein et al. 2011; Künhardt und Meyer 2017; historisch: Droux und Hofstetter 2015). Durch transnationale Akteure (z.B. OECD, Weltbank) und internationale Abkommen (z.B. GATS) wird Bildung zu einem zentralen Feld politischer Aktivität (Moutsios 2009).
