Abstract
Having described our approach for reliable consumer side availability monitoring in the previous Chapter 6, we will now elaborate on strategies for robust monitor placement in this chapter. As already mentioned in Section 1.2, focusing only on the provisioning of reliable monitoring information itself is not sufficient. In order to enable consumers to monitor the performance of cloud services in a reliable manner, also the reliability of the monitoring infrastructure must be taken into account.
