Zusammenfassung
Die Bedeutung von sozialen Innovationen für die erfolgreiche Bewältigung von gesellschaftlichen, ökonomischen, politischen und ökologischen Herausforderungen des 21. Jahrhunderts erlangt zunehmende Aufmerksamkeit. Zur Bewältigung von Schlüsselproblemen der Gesellschaft - in den Bereichen Gesundheit, Sozialversorgung, Bildung, Energie, Umwelt und weiteren – werden vielfältige neue soziale Praktiken entwickelt, ausprobiert, verworfen oder skaliert. Was wissen wir bereits heute über die Erfolgsbedingungen sozialer Innovationen, insbesondere auf kommunaler Ebene? Welche Akteure sind an Initiativen sozialer Innovation beteiligt, wie können soziale Innovationen verbreitet und zum sozialen Wandel beitragen?
Der Beitrag präsentiert ausgewählte Ergebnisse des globalen Forschungsprojekts SI-DRIVE (Social Innovation – Driving Force of Social Change), in dem mehr als 1.000 Fallbeispiele sozialer Innovation weltweit gesammelt und analysiert worden sind (Howaldt et al., 2016). Die Analyse zeigt, dass es für die erfolgreiche Entwicklung urbaner Ökosysteme, in denen sich soziale Innovationen entfalten können, einer unterschiedliche gesellschaftliche Sektoren einschließenden Strategie bedarf.
Das Zusammenspiel gesellschaftlicher Sektoren in Innovationsprozessen wird durch verschiedene heuristische Modelle beschrieben. Ansätze, die auch das Feld sozialer Innovation einschließen, sind die Quadruple Helix (Wallin, 2010) mit ihrem besonderen Blick für die Rolle der Zivilgesellschaft, und Ökosysteme sozialer Innovation (Sgaragli, 2014). In diesem Beitrag werden auf der Grundlage theoretisch-konzeptioneller wie empirischer Arbeiten Faktoren herausgearbeitet, die bei der Gestaltung urbaner Ökosysteme sozialer Innovation von besonderer Bedeutung sind.
