Abstract

The objective of this thesis is to present different approaches to solve the turbine placement optimization problem. The task in this problem is to find locations for multiple wind turbines on a map. The placement of the turbines should lead to an objective, e.g., the optimal power output of the turbines. To provide realism in this thesis, several steps have been taken and a proven wind power computation model from the field of optimization algorithms was employed.
