Zusammenfassung
Der Aufsatz untersucht das Image der PR, vermittelt in US-amerikanischen Qualitätsserien. Auf Basis einer Analyse der Wechselbeziehung von Popkultur und sozialem Wandel zeigt er, wie die konkrete Rolle des Pressesprechers bisher im Spiegel von filmischen Erzeugnissen behandelt wird. Hierauf aufbauend wird die Rolle von TV-Serien im Gefüge von Popkultur und Gesellschaft untersucht. Dies mündet in einem konkreten Fallbeispiel – einer Comedy-Serie. Der Artikel beleuchtet Darstellung bzw. Darstellbarkeit von PR-Professionals in Qualitätsserien inhaltsanalytisch wie auch kultursystematisch. Fazit aus Sicht der PR-Praxis: Diese ist gehalten, der Aktualität realer TV-Programme in Konzeption, Wording, und Timing konkreter PR-Aktivitäten Rechnung zu tragen.
