Die Stimmung der Partizipation

Zusammenfassung

(Wie) Lässt sich die Stimmung einer Situation theoretisch fassen? Am Beispiel partizipativer Verfahren wird argumentiert, dass das Konstrukt der Stimmung einer Situation soziologisch fruchtbar ist. Als Ausgangspunkt dient der Befund, dass Hoffnung, Enttäuschung, Scham und Angst die Emotionen der Partizipation sind (Saam 2015). Dieser Befund wird hinterfragt. Es gilt Hoffnung als Emotion von Hoffnung als Stimmungslage zu unterscheiden. Hoffnung liegt zwar auch als Emotion vor, weit entscheidender ist sie jedoch als Hintergrundaffektivität, als Stimmung. Die Hoffnung Ernst-genommen-zu-werden – so die These dieses Beitrags – ist die Stimmung der Partizipation. Die Wirkung einer hoffnungsvollen Stimmung besteht darin, ein Handeln zu motivieren.
