The body of knowledge regarding CGIs is still small, particularly concerning the assessment or evaluation of their success or their effectiveness. The need to further study those initiatives is expressed by a number of scholars: Lucke and Lütge (2011) state that the collective anti-corruption efforts have not been in the focus of research. Frynas (2010) adds that only few studies on Coordinated Governance Initiatives have been carried out as they are a relatively recent phenomenon.
