Zusammenfassung
Strategische Kommunikation wird meist als intentionale Kommunikation von Organisationen verstanden. Generische Strategieansätze wollen die (positive) Veränderung der Wahrnehmung (z. B. Bekanntheit, Einstellung) einer Organisation bei einer oder mehreren Bezugsgruppen erreichen. Aktivistische Strategien hingegen sind ein Sammelbegriff für emanzipatorische Gegenentwürfe zur herrschenden Meinung. Sie umfassen Taktiken, die von Aktivisten in sozialen Bewegungen eingesetzt werden, um den kommunikativen Status-quo, d. h. die bestehende kulturelle Grammatik bzw. institutionelle Logik zu verändern. Solche Taktiken reichen von aufmerksamkeitsorientierten Aktionen bis hin zu komplexen Inszenierungskampagnen und dem Aufbau fiktiver Organisationen, die selbst zu Nachrichten im Mediensystem werden. Als Konsequenz sind aktivistische Strategien ein „blind spot“ der Strategieentwicklung und stellen somit eine Herausforderung für die PR-Praxis und -Forschung dar. Sie erzeugen Irritationen, wenn die Mechanismen der öffentlichen Kommunikation bewusst gegen Organisationen eingesetzt werden. Zugleich sind sie eine Inspiration, um gängige und lineare Muster der Strategie zu durchbrechen.
