Zusammenfassung
Das Kapitel „Besondere Herausforderungen beim Derivateeinsatz“ ist sowas wie der Beipackzettel für Derivate – umfangreich, wie das nun einmal bei Beipackzetteln so ist. Soweit nicht an anderer Stelle des Buchs bereits direkt adressiert, finden sich hier kompakt die gängigsten Risiken und Nebenwirkungen – kolportierte wie auch reale.
Viele Herausforderungen resultieren aus den vielfach hervorgehobenen Annahmen, die der Modellierung innewohnen. Andere ergeben sich aus der Kapitalmarktrealität im Hinblick auf extreme oder irritierende Wertentwicklungen wie auch aus den organisatorischen Rahmenbedingungen. Es dreht sich um Probleme, die sich aus besonderen Marktbewegungen ergeben können, Besonderheiten in der Performance‐Analyse ebenso wie um die Beantwortung der Frage „Was mache ich eigentlich mit Optionen, wenn ich erst einmal eine Long‐ oder Short‐Position im Bestand habe?“. Breiten Raum nimmt auch die Besprechung von Vor‐ und Nachteilen der gängigsten exotischen Optionen ein.
Mit am wichtigsten ist eine ausführliche Analyse der vielen Aspekte, die die öffentliche Wahrnehmung von Derivaten im Widerstreit zwischen Klischee und Realität prägen.
