Zusammenfassung
In der Feinsteuerung der Risiken im Portfolio demonstrieren Optionen und Futures die ganze Bandbreite ihrer Flexibilität – oder umgekehrt, wie sehr ein etwaiges Einsatzverbot von Derivaten ein Portfolio einschränken und in Mitleidenschaft ziehen kann. Es gibt praktisch kein Gebiet, auf dem Derivate nicht in der Lage wären, die Arbeit des Portfoliomanagers zu erleichtern oder ihm zusätzliche Handlungsspielräume zu eröffnen. Angefangen bei unterschiedlichen Möglichkeiten in Assets ein‐ oder aus ihnen auszusteigen oder ihre Zusammensetzung zu verändern über das Management der Liquidität bis hin zur feinen Isolation von Teilrisiken und deren kontrolliertem Auf‐ und Abbau.
Selbst für das Risikomanagement im Rahmen des Geschäftsmodells eines Asset Managers halten Derivate im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes (Handlungs‑)Optionen bereit.
Dabei sind die meisten Fälle nicht komplex. Oft sind es einfache Absicherungen (long wie short) die hier in unterschiedlichen Kombinationen und unter einem anderen Namen zum Einsatz kommen.
