Zusammenfassung
Im Laufe der letzten 20 Jahre sind die Anerkennungskämpfe sexueller Minderhei-ten auf globaler Ebene zunehmend in Gerichte verlagert worden und haben in vie-len Ländern zu einer Erweiterung des rechtlichen Schutzes gleichgeschlechtlicher Partnerschaften geführt. Im Zuge dieses Prozesses verabschiedete auch die südafrikanische Regierung am 29. November 2006 das Civil Union Bill, welches die völlige rechtliche Gleichstellung gleichgeschlechtlicher Eheschließungen (GGE) sichert.
