Zusammenfassung
Der Gedanke, dass aus der Rekombination von Wissen Innovationen hervorgehen können, geht bereits auf die erste Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts zurück. Eine Erfindung, Ausgangspunkt vieler technologischer Innovationen, wird als Auswahl nützlicher Kombinationen oder als konstruktive Kombination bestehender Elemente beschrieben (Poincaré, 1910; Usher, 1929). Auf den Innovationskontext bezogen postuliert Schumpeter, dass wirtschaftliche Entwicklung auf der Durchsetzung neuer Kombinationen gründet (Schumpeter, 1912).
