Abstract

The water cycle of coastal regions is characterized by the interplay between the different hydrological processes. It can be described by the general water balance equation of a system, quantifying the change of water in a defined area.

    kf is the coefficient of permeability or hydraulic conductivity; data has been provided by the Lower Saxonian Agency for Mining, Energy and Geology.

    Darcy’s law in general: v = kf*I, where v = rate of water flow (volume per time), kf= coefficient of permeability and I= hydraulic gradient.
