Abstract

The bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) are a new class of materials, discovered around 1995. They are metallic alloys with amorphous structure. Due to their particular structure, they may achieve interesting properties, like high strength, high hardness, increased wear resistance, increased fatigue limit, increased corrosion resistance, as well as extremely good soft magnetic properties as low coercivity, high saturation magnetization, high permeability and low core losses.
