Abstract

In this thesis we presented an attempt to reduce carbon dioxide emissions caused by vehicular traffic in urban areas. We proposed a system that continuously measures traveling times along all road segments within a given area and according to that, updates the list of the quickest routes between any pair of points. We proved that in a simulated environment the proposed system has the ability to reduce the amount of CO2 emission caused by vehicular traffic.
