Zusammenfassung

In den letzten Jahrzehnten ist urbane Angst zu einem immer wichtigeren Thema in der westlichen Kriminalpolitik geworden. Urbane Angst wird heute als ein Problem gleicher Größenordnung gesehen wie die eigentliche Kriminalitätsrate, weil davon ausgegangen wird, dass sie ähnlich unerwünschte Auswirkungen auf die städtische Bevölkerung hat. Sowohl die Angst als auch die Kriminalitätsrate werden als ansteigend empfunden und in den Medien wird regelmäßig darüber berichtet.
