Zusammenfassung
Die frühe Forschung zu Popper und Hayek legte ihr Augenmerk auf Überlappungen und Ähnlichkeiten in den Ideensystemen der befreundeten Denker. In jüngerer Zeit ist das Forschungsinteresse an den Unterschieden gewachsen. Trotz dessen Berechtigung dominieren die Übereinstimmungen und Ähnlichkeiten. Was Popper und Hayek eint, ist der Negativismus – wie beide übereinstimmend in ihrem Briefwechsel bekundet haben. Was die Korrespondenz ebenfalls offenbart, ist, dass Popper Hayeks Wunsch, die ihm wichtigen philosophischen Grundfragen intensiver zu diskutieren, nicht nachkam.
