Im Gegensatz zur Schallausbreitung im Freien, bei denen eine Beziehung zwischen Schalldruckpegel am Immissionsort und Entfernung zum Emissionsort (Schallquelle) besteht, entsteht in geschlossenen Räumen ein diffuses Schallfeld aus direktem Schall und reflektiertem Schall.
