Abstract
The western-oriented foreign policy tradition changed in the last decade under the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP – Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi), and the previously fragmented relations between Turkey and the Middle East (ME) has entered into a new phase Turkey has increased the level of interactions with the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) countries in terms of political, economic, and cultural affairs
